Some twenty thousand US dollars has been allocated to this country for the development of the Coconut Industry.

This is part of a project co-ordinated by the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI), and the European Union (EU).

Representatives from CARDI were in the state last week to network with stakeholders in the coconut industry.  They conducted a one-day workshop on “Production of Quality Coconut Planting Material".

In his address at the opening of the workshop, CARDI’s Representative, Dr. Compton Paul, outlined the Agency’s aim for the project.

Dr. Paul also highlighted what is needed for the development of a thriving coconut industry.
