Vincentians are being encouraged to consume more coconut daily.  The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries suggests that benefits to be had include; improved health and increased energy levels.

Chief Agricultural Officer, Ashley Caine, made the suggestion while giving the featured address at the launch of a project to support the development of coconut water and composite flour in St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Monday, 21st February, 2016.

Meanwhile, Heiko Bamm-Ann, the Value Chain and Agriculture Officer at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), which funds the project, said that in implementing this project, stakeholders must be careful not to negatively impact the street coconut vendors.
