The Ministry of Agriculture hosted a workshop on Biosecurity of poultry farms for the prevention of Avian Influenza commonly known as Bird Flu on Wednesday, February 24th, 2016.
Addressing the opening ceremony at the Methodist Church Hall, Chief Agricultural Officer, Ashley Cain, said the workshop aims to sensitize farmers about the Avian Influenza and raise their awareness to ensure that they are prepared to address this issue.
Meanwhile, the country representative for the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), Michael Dalton, said Avian Influenza could have a significant impact on the income of poultry farmers and national food security.
