Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries and Rural Transformation, Hon. Saboto Caesar, said that the Banana Rehabilitation Program will continue on the weekend beginning 17th September since, due to the current climatic conditions, they have seen an increase in the levels of the Black Sigatoka disease.

He said that they, currently, have the disease under control and they have three spraying teams in the field addressing this issue across the country.

Minister Caesar also said that the aerial spraying cycles will resume from the Saturday, as they continue their work to ensure that the Black Sigatoka disease is kept under control.

He further stated that a team is also going around the country assisting farmers with the cutback and pruning of damaged plants.
