On Thursday, February 16, 2023, Minister of Agriculture Hon. Saboto Caesar announced the upcoming launch of the National Farm Labour Assistant Program.

This program will be launched in the village of Troumaca on Tuesday, February 21st, 2023.

According to the Minister, after the launch on Tuesday, there are plans to undertake a registration drive at different points throughout the country.

The Minister expressed the intention of the Ministry of Agriculture to “have approximately two hundred and fifty (250) young persons around the country adding mechanization to the production platform.”

Minister Caesar emphasized that the objective is to “advance productivity in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.”

He declared that “The usage of a weed trimmer, a hand tiller, an auger, the provision of green houses and the passing on of significant technology, so that you can have the skillsets and build your capacity is definitely of first importance.”
