Background
The Department of Rural Transformation has been mandated to co-ordinate interventions in rural areas that are undertaken by all state institutions, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO's), service organisations and other national agencies.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Transformation developed a twelve (12) year strategic plan for rural development, which seeks to complement ongoing initiatives for broad based economic growth.
The Rural Transformation Department produces a quarterly newsletter called 'Word ah Mouth' that highlights the social, cultural and economic developments in rural communities throughout Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The newsletter features individuals as well as community groups that are making a mark in enriching lives in rural communities.
